#YOGURT CHICKEN MARINADE FULL#
Since most of the marinade is scraped off before cooking, full fat would make only a very small difference in calories. The yogurt I bought was fat free, but it seemed to make no difference in the recipe. I have made it several times and have given the recipe to several friends. The taste is wonderful and the marinade really makes the chicken stay moist and tender. Really, I can't recommend this recipe highly enough for small children (and their parents). We use thighs, not breasts, as they're tastier and there's no need to pound them. This is my son's favourite chicken recipe (he's 17 months old). I think this marinade would be really good on lamb as well. Really good flavor! Next time I will either a) use a real meat tenderizer to get the meat thinner or b) cut the chicken up for kabobs. I didn't have garam masala, so I used a hot curry powder instead (2 Tbs), I also added 2 seeded serrano chiles, as well as maybe a teaspoon of cayenne. That said, the flavor of the recipe was excellent. Well, they were huge and didn't really get very flat, so the cooking time took a lot longer than the recipe suggested. This turned out really really good! I don't have a meat tenderizer, so I (somewhat unsuccessfully) used a can to try to pound out the breasts. Served this with the Tuscan Kale Caesar salad and made 15 new friends! My summer, guest dinners has been decided. This is some of the best chicken I've ever had. The breast stays moist and the strong flavors in the marinade really shine through, even after grilling. This recipe is, as it says, 'truly indestructible'. Delicious!Ĭould there possibly be a better grilled chicken breast leftover? Not only was this recipe the star of my big family dinner last Saturday night, the leftover chicken has been going all week in lunches (think salad & tossed with arugula) and dinners (think butternut stew & stir fry). I marinated it overnight and threw it on the grill at party time. The flavors come together very nicely and it was very easy to make. I made it for a dinner party and it was a hit. This is now one of my favorite ways to cook chicken. Served it to my cousin who is a chef and he loved it. I cut the chicken into kabob size chunks before putting it in the marinade the skewered it and cooked it on the grill with zucchini, peppers and onions. I'd guess that the zucchini rounds interspersed on the kebab would keep the chicken from actually laying on the grate of the grill.

I may try cutting the chicken in chunks for kebabs as suggested by another reviewer. The only thing I haven't solved is the problem with the meat sticking to the grill. I've made this about three times in the last few months. This will be one of my top "go-to" recipes for grilled chicken. Can anyone tell me if they can marinate 2 days? Or should I cook when I get home tonight and reheat the next day?Īs good as everyone says - Leftovers made for a great lunchbox sandwich - I found a light spritz of olive oil cooking spray was more effective than oiling the grill grates I put these together last night before bed to marinate overnight, and now something has come up for dinner tonight. Used grill pan on stove as outdoor grill not working. Great recipe - very flavorful and easy to make. Forgot to add the ginger to food processor, chopped fine and added later, otherwise, followed recipe. Cooked it on the grill, boyfriend loved it.
